Description: Kokoro no Gakko, School with a Heart, is a Watsonville, CA based nonprofit program. The program was founded in 1989 by Gerald Kondo and Mark Takeuchi. The school seeks to keep alive Japanese cultural traditions such as language, calligraphy, history, customs, festivals, Ikebana flower arranging, tea ceremony, bonsai, haiku, visual & performing arts, storytelling, music, taiko drumming, mochi pounding, sushi, ceramics, cooking, woodworking, paper making, origami, games, arts & crafts, and more!

ELIGIBILITY: Children who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade.
Mission: To keep traditional Japanese cultural traditions alive by educating our local youth
Programs: Japanese language, calligraphy, history, customs, festivals, Ikebana flower arranging, tea ceremony, bonsai, haiku, visual & performing arts, storytelling, music, taiko drumming, ceramics, cooking, mochi pounding, sushi, woodworking, paper making, origami, games, arts & crafts.
