| Description: | Office hours 8am-5pmMonday through Friday (Lunch is typically 12-1pm). The volunteer firefighters of Boulder Creek dedicate themselves to providing emergency coverage for the communities of Boulder Creek and Brookdale. We also provide mutual aid coverage throughout Santa Cruz County and occasionally the state of California. Our firefighters all have full time jobs elsewhere and choose to respond on their off time to all types of emergencies. We are always in need of new volunteers to help fill our ranks. For information on becoming a volunteer firefighter call our office during normal business hours at (831)338-7222. AREAS SERVED: Our district, roughly, goes from MacGaffigan Mill Rd to south of Brookdale on Highway 9 and from Little Basin on Highway 236 to 4 1/4 miles up Bear Creek Road. We also respond on mutual aid calls to Ben Lomond, and even Felton as well as all the way to the junction of Highway 9 and Highway 35 and up into Big Basin Park with California Department of Forestry. |
| Programs: | Internship: annually provides a unique program for San Lorenzo Valley High School students to introduce them to the profession of firefighting as a potential career path. Sponsors annual July 4th pancake breakfast, annual crab feed in March, dances in August, Fire Prevention classes at Boulder Creek and San Lorenzo Elementary Schools, car seat inspections and Christmas tree sales in December. |
