What's a Playshop?
A playshop is a fun hands-on experience that showcases how local organizations use play to make a positive impact in our community. There are a wide variety of playshops to choose from in the park and in Louden Nelson Community Center rooms. Schedule of playshops updated daily.
Martial Arts Maneuvers
Come experience a Martial Arts mini class! Learn meditation, energy flow, stretching and kicking and hear an ancient martial arts story. Every child gets to kick through a wooden board at the end of the 20 minute session! (Limit 10 children per session.) Room #4

This is your backstage pass to meet members of the Kuumbwa Honors Jazz band! (Drop in 1:30-2:15) Room #1
Learn to Waltz
Swirl your way into fun at this beginner Waltz lesson. (40 minute lesson) Room #4
Laughter Yoga
Laugh your way out of stress and negative thoughts through playful, interactive laughter exercises, meditation and shivasana (deep relaxation). 12:15 in Room #1, 3:20 in Room #4
A Virtual Playshop
Explore first-hand how virtual reality technology is used for gaming, learning and more. Ages 13 and up. (Drop in 12:30 -1:10) Room #5
Zines for Social Change
Join our DIY Zine making workshop to explore community social issues around the themes of climate change, families and speaking up and out. (Drop in 1:30 -2:10) Room #5
Math Adventures of Jamear
Discover how math is a fun part of everyday life through exciting math-based crafts, games and activities for kids K-3. (12:15-1:00) Room #7
Cuéntame a Story
We can all use a little self-love. Join us for an All Ages Bilingual Adventure towards self-acceptance through storytime and crafts. (2:30- 3:10) Room #5
Dog-gone Fun
Try not to fall in love with any of the friendly dogs that are taking turns hanging out in the Beer & Wine Garden with the hopes of finding a forever home. (Drop in 12:00 - 4:00) Multi-purpose Room
