Description: | Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) provides animal rescue, regulation and humane care that protect the health, public safety and welfare of people and animals in Santa Cruz County. We currently rescue and assure safe, temporary shelter, veterinary and humane care for approximately 5,000 stray, unwanted, abandoned, mistreated, neglected and injured animals each year. Our shelter also provides 24-hour animal rescue service and is Santa Cruz County’s only full service, open-admission animal shelter. SCCAS provides two locations for owners to find and recover their lost pets and adopt new animal companions. After-Hours Emergency: 831-471-1182 Watsonville Location 580 Airport Blvd. Watsonville, CA 95076 Open Monday – Saturday* 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (closed from noon to 1:00 pm) |
Programs: | SCC Animal Shelter is receiving pets for safe animal care for evacuees impacted by the CZU August Lightning Complex Fire. Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is partnering with SCCAS to help CZU Lightning Complex fire evacuees retrieve pets and animals in areas under evacuation orders. Evacuees should be reminded not to enter areas under evacuation orders. Please contact the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter if you require assistance recovering your pets or animals. |
