| Description: | Founded in 2011, Heading Home Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 (Federal Tax ID number: 45-1314568) non-profit dedicated to finding good homes for local shelter animals in need. Some of these pets just need help meeting their new family and getting out into the community, while others are too young to be adoptable when they enter the shelter, have medical needs, or are shy. While their needs are varied, our goal is to act as a bridge for those animals; we provide them the care, time, and love they need in order to be at their best when the right person comes along to take them home. We are few, but we are mighty, and we are committed to our community's animals. |
| Programs: | The Working Whiskers Barn Cat Program A program designed to help cats in our community that are not readily adoptable. This includes at risk cats at our local shelters that are not "social" (e.g. feral or semi feral cats), but that would be wonderful working cats, cats that are strategically placed in a safe location, with shelter (barns, garages, commercial buildings, sheds, nurseries etc.) and typically do the job of natural predation of rodents very effectively. |
| Volunteer Info: | Heading Home is growing constantly and it seems there's always a need for another set of hands to help get things done. The options for helping are many, ranging from fostering an animal, helping adopters find 'the one', transporting animals in need to adoption events or vet appointments, to marketing and advocacy for our animals, partners, and programs.
