Description: | Telos is a short-term crisis residential program that serves as a diversion to psychiatric hospitalization for individuals in crisis. The program provides a healing environment where residents receive the treatment, support, and care they need to stabilize and move out of their crisis state. Staff provide group and individual counseling, as well as assistance with independent living skills and connecting to the community. Treatment approaches include Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Awareness Program, Trauma Informed Care, and Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT). A nurse and County psychiatrist are available for medication monitoring and management. Referrals to Telos must be coordinated with the Santa Cruz County Behavioral Health system of care.
