Description: | The Community Action Board of Santa Cruz, Inc. (CAB) is celebrating over 50 years of Community Action! CAB operates 6 programs assisting close to 10,000 low-income people with emergency, sustaining/self sufficiency services and serves an additional 7,000+ with requests for information and referrals. Over three quarters of CAB's clients have family incomes of less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and at least a quarter of clients have less than 150% of the guidelines. |

Programs: | Please visit the website to learn more about these programs ALCANCE The mission of ALCANCE is to provide under-resourced, as risk, or re-entry youth and adults with employment services. These include work skills development, community engagement, job readiness, placement and retention assistance, youth leadership training, and work skills crews. Day Worker Center of Santa Cruz County (DWC) The mission of the Day Worker Center is assist day laborers in Santa Cruz County to secure safe employment, develop job skills, improve wages, and become more fully engaged members of our community. The Center facilitates the employment of day laborers in a safe hiring hall space and through an organized and dignified process. Davenport Resource Service Center (DRSC) The Davenport Resource Service Center, provides services to support the culturally diverse and low-income population in the rural north coast. Emergency and prevention services we provide include, food distribution; educational services for children and teenagers; support and services for seniors; transportation; information and referral; cultural events; translation; form filing, and other services Santa Cruz County Immigration Project (SCCIP) SCCIP's mission is to promote the well being of the immigrant community in Santa Cruz County and the Pajaro Valley. We accomplish this by helping immigrants acquire legal status, reuniting families, and making US Citizenship more accessible to eligible immigrants. We provide competent and professional legal services, advocacy, and community education and information. The Rental Assistance Program (RAP) The Rental Assistance Program serves low income families with children or disabled and elderly (60 years of age or older) households. Calworkers Emergency Payment Program (CEPP) CEPP provides emergency payments for services, information, and referrals to support the continuation of employment and educational goals for participants referred by the county's CALWORK program. |
