| Description: | The purpose of the club is to learn the art of bonsai (the Japanese art of growing and shaping miniature trees in pots). The club also has an extensive Bonsai Library which is available to members, only. The club entertains visitors for a few visits without the need to join the club, but we do eventually expect visitors to join the club. Visitors are welcome at the monthly meeting, every Third Saturday we have a different Bonsai teacher who comes and does a demonstration and teaching on a tree that is then raffled off, then the guest speaker helps us style and work on our potential bonsai trees From 9am to 12pm for ages 15 to 100. |
| Mission: | Santa Cruz Bonsai Kai is a non-profit bonsai club whose objectives are to promote interest in, and expand knowledge of, the art of bonsai through continuous study and education. |
| Programs: | An annual show is held in the fall describing all these events. |
| Meetings: | 3rd Saturday of each month, 9am general meetings at the Live Oak Grange Hall, 1900-17th Ave., Santa Cruz 2nd Wednesday of each month, 7pm evening workshop for members only at the Aptos Grange, 2555 Mar Vista, Aptos. |
