Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in drawing and/or painting, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with drawing and painting expertise; demonstrations of basic techniques using pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, watercolors, oils, acrylics or other mediums; and regular meetings at which members share information about current projects, enjoy the company of other painting/drawing enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some painting/drawing clubs may also provide space, materials and models for drawing/painting projects; arrange for discounts on materials; sponsor exhibits or sales of paintings, drawings and other art pieces created by members; publish a newsletter or provide a library of resources about these art forms. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
