Programs that provide information and/or support for people who need assistance in selecting a bank, opening checking and savings accounts, writing checks, balancing their checkbooks, using an ATM machine, making direct deposit arrangements, banking online (e.g., paying bills, reviewing account balances, ordering checks via the Internet), paying bills by telephone, changing currency, conducting wire transfers or understanding and/or managing other activities related to banking. Included are programs that help people who are homeless, people with little income and few resources and others with special problems to establish bank accounts and obtain and/or use other banking services.
