| Description: | NOTE: NEW Performance Venue: Colligan Theater at the Tannery Arts Center 1010 River Street Santa Cruz, CA 95060 Jewel Theatre Company (JTC) is the only year-round professional theatre company in Santa Cruz County. We recently moved into our new home at the Colligan Theater at the Tannery Arts Center in downtown Santa Cruz. JTC prides itself on bringing you quality, professional actors performing in both familiar favorites and lesser known plays, by first-rate playwrights. Our seasons are eclectic, ranging from drama and musicals to comedy and classics. All in a quest to bring you inspired live theatre you'll want to tell your friends about. Founded in 2005, JTC operates under a contract with Actors' Equity Association (the union for professional actors and stage managers in the U.S.) and is dedicated to creating extraordinary productions that explore and advance the art of theatre by entertaining, enlightening and engaging the community. |
| Programs: | Talk-Back Night Thursdays feature a post -performance conversation between the audience and members of the cast, the director and other artistic staff. High School Outreach: We coordinate with local high school teachers and offer a significantly reduced ticket rate for those who bring groups of 20 or more high school students to a performance. We will also bring the production's director and two of the actors into the classroom to conduct a seminar for the students as preparation for attending the performance.
