Competitions that feature amateur and/or professional cyclists who participate in a wide variety of track, road and mountain biking/cross country events including cyclocross, a form of off-road cycle racing in which riders have to dismount and run over obstacles, carrying their bikes. The events are sanctioned by USA Cycling, an umbrella organization for the United States Cycling Federation (USCF), the National Off-Road Bicycle Association (NORBA) and the U.S. Professional Racing Association (USPRO), or other professional associations. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
