The Genealogical Society of Santa Cruz County presents monthly lectures featuring guest speakers on many topics of interest to genealogists on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. The lectures typically last about an hour and are followed by a question-and-answer session lasting up to 30 minutes. Speakers may allow the library permission to record the events and host them on the Santa Cruz Public Libraries' YouTube channel for later viewing.

Local archives can be a source of valuable information for genealogists wanting to tell a rich history of their ancestors. They often contain diaries, scrapbooks, hotel registers, club and organization minutes, etc.
Lisa Robinson will take us through a journey exploring the archives in the collection of the San Lorenzo Valley Museum to demonstrate how such a collection can be used to paint a more vivid picture of our ancestors, from wherever they may have hailed.
