Book Buddies

Book Buddy volunteers deliver library materials to homebound patrons as part of our mission to provide library services to people in our community.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work well with homebound patrons.
• Ability to transport oneself to a library and to homebound patron's residence.
• Must submit fingerprints for background check.
• Must provide copy of California Drivers' License and proof of auto insurance.

Training Provided: Before being assigned as a Book Buddy, the applicant meets with the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss the program and have any questions answered. The Volunteer Coordinator will arrange the initial home visit and will introduce volunteer to Book Buddy.

Benefits of Volunteering: The joy of bringing library resources to those unable to visit the library.

Time Commitment: 3 hours per month.

Length of Commitment: 1 year, ideally 2 years.
